One thing that amazes me is the sheer number and variety of search engines. I used to think there was only a dozen or so search engines, you know Google, Yahoo!, Altavista, Northern light etc. Boy was I wrong. There are in fact hundreds and hundreds of them differing from country to country and specialty to specialty. Set aside an afternoon sometime and head on over to Search Engine Colossus. There you will see an enormous index of search engines and a short description of each one of them. Truly an enlightening experience!

I really like Google SafeSearch.
It's a great tool for parents and other conservatively minded internet surfers.Google SafeSearch allows you, and, more importantly, (your) children to surf the net without having to worry about winding up on some sexually explicit website. Because I have search boxes from other search engine companies on my site, I am not allowed to place any Google search boxes here for you. So, I will link you to the Google Safe Search page
