Search Engines

I'm re-doing this page folks.
I lost half of it moving it from another page to this one!
So please forgive the emptiness of it for now. It's still got some neat links and cool search engines you can try.
Thanks.

Meta Web Search: Your Engine for Top Search Results

One thing that amazes me is the sheer number and variety of search engines. I used to think there was only a dozen or so search engines, you know Google, Yahoo!, Altavista, Northern light etc. Boy was I wrong. There are in fact hundreds and hundreds of them differing from country to country and specialty to specialty. Set aside an afternoon sometime and head on over to Search Engine Colossus. There you will see an enormous index of search engines and a short description of each one of them. Truly an enlightening experience!

GigaBlast
is a new search engine (based in Albuquerque, New Mexico) with a lot of potential. I like using it along with Google and Yahoo! It's pretty fast. Take it for a spin! Let me know what you think...

Go GigaBlast!

I didn't realize this until just recently, but Gigablast and Mamma have partnered. Apparently Mamma uses the Gigablast search engine in its crawls. Here's Patrick Hopf a VP of Mamma on their partnership with Gigablast:

Gigablast provides Mamma.com, the Mother of All Search Engines, with a highly relevant and robust search solution. We have a great partnership and appreciate the innovative service and professional account management Gigablast provides
—Patrick Hopf, Vice President Business Development, Mamma.com Inc.

Search the Web

Mamma
is another powerful search engine. Mamma is a metsearch
engine, which I believe is the best kind. It crawls all the search engines.

I really like Google SafeSearch.
It's a great tool for parents and other conservatively minded internet surfers.Google SafeSearch allows you, and, more importantly, (your) children to surf the net without having to worry about winding up on some sexually explicit website. Because I have search boxes from other search engine companies on my site, I am not allowed to place any Google search boxes here for you. So, I will link you to the Google
Safe Search page
