Mark Raats Exclusive Celebration IV Artwork

Here's a last chance to grab one of the extraordinary limited edition artwork prints recently available at Celebration IV -- from an edition size of just 250, and in many cases, only a small part of the original edition size is left!Mark Raats was in the Army when Star Wars was released in 1977 and the superior design, filmmaking and visual effects made a lasting impression on him. He had always studied the work of film and art masters, and as a young boy he practiced his drawing skills by copying the work of Michelangelo, Norman Rockwell, and Hal Forster's weekly comic strip -- Prince Valiant. Specializing in acrylic paint and colored pencil, Raats continues to work across many of the art disciplines: art commissions, book covers, and political cartoons. Aside from his current involvement in software design and computer graphics, he continues to do illustrations for individuals within Lucasfilm and Star Wars-related companies such as Hasbro. Mark Raats' Celebration artwork came from the concept that the Jedi temple would have a similar cultural ethos to that of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Each Jedi might have had a personalized artwork hanging behind his/her chair which might show their likeness, their name and title and their weapon of choice. Mark likes the idea of the law of a warrior code similar to the Samurai and hence the eastern style use of calligraphy and composition. The calligraphy reads from top to bottom: Luke Skywalker. This print is now a StarWarsShop exclusive available in limited quantities, so act fast!

Scott Erwert Exclusive Celebration IV Artwork

Here's a last chance to grab one of the extraordinary limited edition artwork prints recently available at Celebration IV -- these are signed and numbered from an edition size of just 250, and in many cases, only a small part of the original edition size is left!In a world . . . where bad art and sub-par design assault us at every turn, one man vowed to fight. Armed with a sketchbook, drawing utensils, and a dream, this warrior worked on the artistic front lines since childhood. Later, joined by his trusty computer sidekick, Mac, he began a full-scale digital defense against the mundane. After more than a decade of fighting crime on the creative backstreets--sometimes working alone, sometimes with a team--Scott Erwert strives to bring balance to the competing worlds of art and commerce. All while refusing to wear a helmet or protective armor. Some of Erwert's contributions include: design and illustration, The Cinema of George Lucas, a book on the life of the visionary director; Art Director of Marketing for Lucasfilm for Star Wars: Attack of the Clones; artist sketch cards for Lord of the Rings and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith; design and direction of the Playboy Legacy Collection coffee-table book. "Luke and Leia ponder the depth of the Death Star chasm": Who could forget this classic Star Wars moment? Scott Erwert's piece has a retro flair and a dynamic perspective on our heroes as they flee pursuing stormtroopers.
